A Prayer for People of Haiti Still Trapped in the Rubble
O God, Creator and Sustainer of all that is, we come to You in reverence and humility thanking You for the great privilege of prayer. With our hearts heavy from grief and our minds filled with questions, we come to you! Once again and, as always, we need Your grace and mercy. God, we trust Your wisdom in all things.
Our hearts are filled with anguish for our sisters and brothers who are trapped in the rubble in Haiti who are still hoping and praying to be found before their spirits leave their bodies.
O God our Keeper! Your Word tells us, if we make our beds in Sheol, You are right there. So, show Yourself, manifest Your Presence to our sisters and brothers who are right now still trapped debris. Glorify Yourself in the rubble!
O God our Comforter! Wrap your loving arms around our Haitian sisters and brothers who are longing for to see their family members and loved ones again.
O God our Sustainer! Empower and strengthen rescue workers, keepers of the peace, medical personnel and preachers of your Gospel with your Holy Spirit.
O God our Peace! Breathe on Haiti.
O God our Healer! Heal broken bodies, troubled minds and sorrowing hearts.
O God our Joy! Penetrate the grief, pain and sorrow by the great power of your Presence that all may know, even in tragedies, that you are the Lord.
In Jesus’ holy name, AMEN

I stand in agreement with you in this prayer. I also pray that God will help the people in Haiti to be moved from the predicted new danger of another strong (as strong as the original quake) shock wave which they say is imminent. I pray that God will move in a supernatural way to soften the tremor and lay the earth in place gently. (subduction is sure to happen if a rift moved.) At any rate, whatever the cause of the initial quake, I pray that God will prevent further disaster by gently moving His earth. I URGE anyone with any influence, and I place in the atmosphere the minds to MOVE THE PEOPLE out of the area. In Jesus’ mighty Name. AMEN
thank you so much for this. I feel lifted just by saying the words allowed. I will forward to my friends. Thanks.
Brother Rev. Belin,
I join you in the prayer for the brothers and sisters in Haiti. I pray that everyone that is touched by it will do all that they can do to help in this tragic and unimaginable situation.
I can’t tell you how blessed I am that someone sent this to me today. “Pruning is a neccessary event for growth. We usually see it in others, but how rarely do we pay attention when it happens in our lives. It doesn’t look pretty at first glance, but how beautiful is the growth that comes in Spring. Yes I am cutting back, and yes certain branches have been cut for me. Thanks again and God bless you my brother. If this is a daily iRead, please add me to your e-mailing list.
To God be the Glory!

Where is God in all of this? God is in the arms, legs, feet, hands and mouths of followers who are rushing to aid our brothers and sisters. (that’s us) Jesus is there too standing right there in the rubble suffering with those who suffer and weeping with those who weep and will heal all broken hearts. We are one!
The Ministerial Alliance of the NY Annual Conference sent us the liturgical resources that you have so graciously shared for use in worship. We will be incorporating them into our Sunday worship as we consider the people of Haiti. Thanks for sharing your talents.
Rev. Belin,
I just want to say how blessed I was from your reflection on pruning. Indeed it hit my spirit because I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that that is where God is leading me…for my own growth. I know all too well the distractions of consumerism. I happened upon your website looking at liturgical resources for Haiti. They too are awesome and I will be incorporating them in our worship this Sunday. I could say so much more. But suffice it to say that you are indeed a conduit of God’s grace and mercy. Thank you for allowing the prophetic message to flow through you. Be Well.
